It is different from a regular argumentative paper. This paper is more about showing data and information rather than trying to persuade the audience. This is usually newer evidence found in the past few years. For this paper you will also be collecting your own data by surveying others on your topic. For the organization aspect of this assignment we will be using headings, sub headings, and graphs. With all of these differences it also provides an abstract which explains what you will be talking about in your paper as well as a gap. A gap is the part where there is not a lot of evidence on the topic that you researched and you want people to start researching it. It also gives a lot of background information on your topic.

1. Write a question to draw the audience in. Do you feel safe walking at night alone? 2. Get a friends personal experience and share it with the audience. Imagine walking alone one day and being abducted. This has actually happened to many people on college campuses. 3. Give statistics about these certain examples given in your outline. A statistic on rape victims from certain universities.

Title: College Campus Safety and Security Introduction Hook Sentence: Do you feel safe on your campus? Problems: Most times students feel scared to walk home from a night class or even from another dorm when it starts to get dark out. This is a big problem because violence is getting worse in the United States not just on college campuses, but everywhere. Campus safety needs to do a better job of reassuring students that they are in good hands and safe at all times of the day. In Iowa City alone this past semester there have been multiple incidents of crime, whether this be inside of a dorm, or on the streets. Ranking (1) "Course Requirement: Extortion" Strengths: This one gives many examples and statistics about textbooks and how they are expensive. It also gives past, present and future references in it (how expensive they were, how much they cost now, in the future...). Weaknesses: They didn't prove their findings. There isn't a good flow to this argument. Ranking (2) "A Proposal to Allow Off-Campus Purchases" Strengths: It had good organization because they used sub-headings. The flow was good. In addition, they stayed on topic. Weaknesses: It should broaden their audience to attract more people. There weren't to many examples in this and I think more specific examples should be provided. College Campus Safety and Security College campus safety and security is very important. Recently there has been a lot more violence overall in the United States. For example, at the University of Iowa, there was a man found walking around in a dorm with a knife. Another example could be a college student found watching people sleep in Petersen. There were people shot downtown. Another very common crime that isn't talked about is rape. This unfortunately happens a lot on every college campus in the United States. Things need to be done about these instances. College students need to feel safe in the environment that they are learning in. I am bringing up this issue because something needs to change. Whether it be a very slight change or a big drastic change.

I think personally I need to add more statistics in my results section. My peer reviews suggested a bit less of statistics because there were a lot of numbers and it was already shown in their graphs. I also think my flow could be a bit better overall. I also need to go back and fix my in-text citations as I forgot to go back and fix them. In addition, I need to explain the quotes that I found instead of just placing them in my paragraphs. I also need a good end to my paragraphs to sum it up. My paper could have been a bit more formal. I need to add more information especially in the diet section and the discussion. I didn't have an appendix section so I ned to add that. I need to go back and fix my paper to make it all APA format because I believe I messed up my reference page. For the organization of my paper I think I did a good job with separating each section and staying on that topic.
