College Campus Safety and Security

College campus safety and security is very important. Recently there has been a lot more violence overall in the United States. For example, at the University of Iowa, there was a man found walking around in a dorm with a knife. Another example could be a college student found watching people sleep in Petersen. There were people shot downtown. Another very common crime that isn't talked about is rape. This unfortunately happens a lot on every college campus in the United States.

Things need to be done about these instances. College students need to feel safe in the environment that they are learning in. I am bringing up this issue because something needs to change. Whether it be a very slight change or a big drastic change.

Title: College Campus Safety and Security Introduction Hook Sentence: Do you feel safe on your campus? Problems: Most times students feel scared to walk home from a night class or even from another dorm when it starts to get dark out. This is a big problem because violence is getting worse in the United States not just on college campuses, but everywhere. Campus safety needs to do a better job of reassuring students that they are in good hands and safe at all times of the day. In Iowa City alone this past semester there have been multiple incidents of crime, whether this be inside of a dorm, or on the streets.
