Paper #1: 

Strength: 
  • The in text citations were added well into the paper (not just thrown in) 
  • The paper has a good flow to it (separations / sections off nicely) 
  • Great conclusion 
Weakness: 
  • The introduction paragraph could have been better worded 
  • Needs more examples to back up citations 
  • Never start  paper with a quote! Start with a hook. 

Paper #2: 

Strength: 
  • Good backup information 
  • Great sources 
  • Did not babble (short paper but good information) 
Weakness: 
  • Needs to be more like an academic piece 
  • BAD reference page 
  • Make the paper flow more 

Paper #3: 

Strength: 
  • Good flow from sentence to the in text citation 
  • References used very well 
  • Good introduction 
Weakness: 
  • Brief conclusion 
  • Repeatedness 
  • Focus on the interview more and focus a little less on the in text citations 

Paper #4: 

Strength: 
  • Good information in the introduction with using examples 
  • Good use of writing techniques 
  • Good flow to the entire paper 
Weakness: 
  • Long introduction paragraph / short conclusion 
  • Focus on the interview 
  • A little less formal could help the audience 

Paper #5: 

Strength: 
  • Strong paragraphs 
  • Paper flows very well 
  • Good balance of words for the audience 
Weakness: 
  • BAD reference page 
  • Finish the conclusion strong 
  • Stop reiterating

Reflection (Assignment #2 - Rough Draft)

I think personally I need to add more statistics in my results section. My peer reviews suggested a bit less of statistics because there were a lot of numbers and it was already shown in their graphs. I also think my flow could be a bit better overall. I also need to go back and fix my in-text citations as I forgot to go back and fix them. In addition, I need to explain the quotes that I found instead of just placing them in my paragraphs. I also need a good end to my paragraphs to sum it up. My paper could have been a bit more formal. I need to add more information especially in the diet section and the discussion. I didn't have an appendix section so I ned to add that. I need to go back and fix my paper to make it all APA format because I believe I messed up my reference page. For the organization of my paper I think I did a good job with separating each section and staying on that topic. Topic Proposal

I chose field hockey and some of the primary factors in your life that can impact your play for my topic proposal. This is important because many collegiate field hockey players have a lot of stress, sleep variations, and specific diets they go by. I always wanted to do a research study on other field hockey players and how these factors affect them. My first research question is, how does stress from school play a factor on how you play? Second, how does sleep impact how you play? Lastly, how does your diet impact how you play? I will be providing a survey with detailed questions to find out the affects of your average day having an impact on your play.
